New addition to the sales team

• Since December 2017, Melanie Maltan has been managing domestic customer accounts in West Germany.

• She has extensive experience in self-adhesive materials sales.

HERMA’s Self-adhesive Materials Division remains on track for expansion. For that reason, Melanie Maltan has joined the domestic sales team at the end of last year, and now manages customer accounts in West Germany. The 23-year-old has all the right credentials for the job: since 2014, she had been working as an order processing clerk for the same client base. Moreover, the qualified industrial business administrator has extensive knowledge of the field and its products: before her graduation, she had already completed an apprenticeship as an industrial business management assistant with HERMA’s Self-adhesive Materials Division.

“During my apprenticeship, I was already able to gain in-depth insights into the company’s sales activities and into the self-adhesive materials industry. I particularly enjoyed providing consultation and support to our customers – not least due to my strong communication skills”, comments Maltan. “That is what motivated me to take a distance learning course in the field on top of my day-to-day work after finishing the apprenticeship.”

HERMA sales director Ralf Drache views the new appointment as a proof of success for HERMA’s trainee program. “Currently, we are training approximately 42 apprentices and students from the Baden-Württemberg Cooperative State University in eight professions at our locations in Filderstadt and Deizisau. Since we train according to our hiring needs, we can offer most graduates a long-term future with HERMA. Our new sales team addition Melanie Maltan knows exactly how to optimally support customers and is familiar with the challenges faced by purchasers”, comments Drache.
