Application and use
Adhesive 63S was specially developed to have extremely high tack on various substrates. Because of the high final adhesion 63S is very suitable for long-term identification, for labelling of difficult substrates and non-polar surfaces. This new kind of an adhesive gives on various substrates like PE, PET, aluminium, steel etc. similarly extreme high final adhesion values. Therefore it is suitable with the right face material or security die cutting as a tamper-evident-solution or as a seal for originality. Depending on the substrate the final adhesion will be reached in some cases in 24 hours. The tamper-evident-function is thus influenced by the surface (in folded boxes from the applied varnish) and by design of the substrate, by the design of the label and by the conditions in the end use. 63S has a particularly good resistant against light, heat and aging.
Processing
Because of the high tack and increased coat weight the matrix stripping is recommended to do immediately at/after die cutting.
Storage conditions and shelf life
Storing at a temperature of 20 ± 5 °C, a relative humidity of 45 ± 5 % and a dark storage is recommended. Moisture, heat and direct sunlight have to be avoided. The shelf life up to 2 years from date of production.
Regulations concerning contact with food
The pressure-sensitive adhesive 63S can be safely used for the back coating of labels for the labelling of foodstuffs for storage at room temperature and below. It may be used in direct contact with dry and moist non-fatty foodstuffs (Declaration of no objection valid until 12.07.2025).
Furthermore the self-adhesive labels with the adhesive 63S can be used for labelling of blood bags (Expert's Opinion from July 12, 2021).
